Software Localization
The approach
Localization for software in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) involves customization to suit local regulations, cultural considerations, and language requirements. This includes the integration of the Arabic language and adherence to content restrictions to align with local sensitivities. Additionally, data localization is a key aspect, where data must be stored on servers within the KSA. Compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) is essential, requiring personal data processing to occur locally, obtaining explicit consent from data subjects, implementing robust security measures, and minimizing data collection. This customization approach can be further enhanced through collaboration in Research & Development (R&D), allowing software to be tailored specifically for local entities.
Hardware Localization
The approach
Localizing hardware production in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia can be achieved through either relocating manufacturing facilities to the Kingdom and employing the Saudi labor force or following the Made in Saudi program. This permits up to provide the value-added processes, such as labor and materials, are based in the Kingdom. This strategic move of products/infrastructure facilitates the establishment or relocation of manufacturing facilities to Saudi Arabia, ensuring compliance with localization criteria.
